The Price of Honor Darien Lambert (Dale Midkiff) hears a story on the evening news that alerts him that something is wrong. John Shaw (Dorian Harewood), the U.S. Secretary of State, has resigned. But Darien knows from his knowledge of history that Shaw never resigned. In fact, Shaw became a great president and world leader. Darien also recalls that late in his life, Shaw wrote an autobiography, revealing that he had a bastard son through a married woman. He wonders if someone from the future, living now in 1993, is blackmailing Shaw. Darien confronts Shaw with his knowledge of the illegitimate child and his blackmail theory. Shaw admits everything is true and helps Darien identify the blackmailer. As Darien suspected, it is a fugitive from the future, Nigel Felsham (Jerome Ehlers). They pick a site where Shaw will leave cash in a briefcase for Nigel. Darien goes to the site and captures Nigel. But before Darien can send him back to his own time, Nigel's cellular phone rings. It's Nigel's girlfriend, Janice (Pippa Grandsison), warning Darien that if Nigel doesn't return, she will expose Shaw's secret. Darien releases Nigel, who takes the briefcase. Nigel offers to make Darien his partner and Darien says he'll think about it. But Darien planted an electronic transmitter in the briefcase. He uses it to follow Nigel to Nigel's apartment. Once outside of the apartment building, Darien calls Nigel and sets up a meeting with him. Nigel leaves the apartment and Darien sneaks in whit his holographic computer, Selma (Elizabeth Alexander). Janice is taking a bath. Darien tries to quietly break into the safe, without disturbing her. Janice hears the noise and confronts him. Darien offers to make a dale with her if she'll betray Nigel. Janice goes along with it, but Darien shoots her with a tranquilizing pellet, putting her to sleep and taking the briefcase of money out of the safe. Darien also takes Nigel's micro-recorder from the future which holds all the blackmail information on influential people from the 20th and 21th centuries. The blackmail situation solved, Darien goes to arrest Nigel. But Janice warns Nigel. Nigel hurries to Shaw's apartment and kidnaps him. He holds Shaw ranson, not for money, but for the micro-recorder that Darien took. But Darien is too clever for Nigel. He saves Shaw and sends Nigel back to his own time. |
