Due to the type of murder, he suspects that Clinton Sayjack (Matt Roe) somehow responsible for it. Sayjack is a fugitive from the future who he's been tracking. Darien learns of a gang war between Sayjack and De Martini to control gambling in New Orleans. The best way to find Sayjack, Darien decides, is by winning big in his casino. Using his extraordinary ailities, Darien easily wins ovre $100.000. Sayjack orders Sydney (Elizabeth Gracen), a beautiful woman who works for him, to distract Darien. Darien immediately realizes that Sydney is working for Sayjack, sohe quits gambling and concentrates on getting close to her. Several of De Marini's men rush into the casino, shoooting at everything. One of them recognizes Sydney as the woman who drove the car for the gunman who murdered De Martini's daughter. He tries to kill Sydney, but Darien stops him. Sydney and Darien rush out of the casino and Sydney takes him to her cabin in the bayou. Here, Sydney goes into drug withdrawal. Darien's holographic computer, "Selma" (Elizabeth Alexander), analyzes Sydney's body chemistry and tells Darien that Sydney is addicted to "clicks", a strong narcotic invented in the 21st century. Darien saves Sydney's life by administering a powerful electric shock to her brain. Grateful, she agrees to help him though her addiction remains strong. Sayjack's men try to assassinate De Martini's son, but Darien intervenes and saves the boy's life. Sayjack is furious. Meanwhile, Darien is granted a meeting with Angelo De Martini. Later, Sayjack confronts Darien. Realizing that Darien is a police officer from the future who is tracking him, Sayjack intends to have Darien killed. But De Martini's men interven on Darien's behalf, killing Sayjack instead. Darien feels indebted to Sydney, who did what she could to help him. He sends her to the future where her medical problems can be easily treated. |
