Beautiful songbird

Future cop Darien Lambert (Dale Midkiff) meets a young woman, Kaitlin Carlyle (Kassie Wesley), in the airport. Kaitlin will become a country music legend (and Darien knows this), her music played centuries after her death. Darien, a big fan of hers, played her music when he still lived in the future. Now, however, in 1993, Kaitlin's just starting her career. Darien follows her to Nashville where she sings in a small bar.

Darien learns that Kaitlin has a secret admirer who sends her gifts and writes her charming notes, signed only "G.R." When Darien sees that Kaitlin is given a pair of fancy boots and the enclosed note is signed "G.R.," he gets suspicious. These are the same boots that will become her trademark in the future.

Darien's super-computer, "Selma" (Elizabeth Alexander), finds a fingerprint from a 22nd century fugitive on the boots. It is the print of Gandolf Peicher (John de Lancie), a man who tried to make his wife a music star in the 2182, but killed her because she wasn't successful. Reicher was convicted of murder and sent to an insane asylum but later vanished from there. He apparently time traveled and, like Darien, is now living in 1993.

Darien is concerned that Reicher will hurt Kaitlin too. He arranges to meet Reicher and tries to send him back to the future. Reicher and Darien fight. Reicher knocks out Darien and escapes. While Darien is recovering in the hospital, Kaitlin agrees to meet her secret admirer, Reicher.

She goes to Reicher's estate with him. But Reicher's psychotic behavior surfaces when he realizes that Kaitlin isn't entirely devoted to him. He knocks her out. Darien rescues Kaitlin, but Reicher sets a trap, preparing to electrocute them both. Darien has Selma shut down the electricity at the estate, then sends Reicher back to the 22nd century.
